Te Puna Ora o Mātaatua is the leading regional Māori health and wellbeing provider in the country. Established in 1991, Te Puna Ora o Mātaatua delivers an integrated range of community health, general medical, homebased, and social services within the Mātaatua rohe.

He aha te tūnga I About the role

Our Homebased Support Service is the largest service in our hauora, with over 400 Support Workers caring for over 700 whānau in their homes. Our point of difference is that we  consider a whanau choice model of care, if our criteria is met. Our services are delived through a kaupapa Māori lens, with the majority of our clients being kaumātua.

As a registered nurse, the primary function of this role is to provide clinical nursing expertise to the Homebased and ACC Support Services team and the clients we service.  There will be a requirement to occasionally provide support to the Mobile Health and Vaccination Team taking on the opportunity to travel within the Mātaatua rohe and beyond to support our whanau who live in those hard-to-reach areas.

So you can hit the ground running, we’d hope you have most of the following skills:

  • Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate.
  • Experience working in a clinical environment.
  • Has a current Independent Authorised Vaccinator status.
  • Knowledge of infection control principles.
  • Practice cultural competency and cultural safety.
  • Knowledge and or willingness to learn Te Reo me ōna tikanga.
