Te Puna Ora o Mataatua is pleased to be awarded a Cultural Capability Research Project by ACC that will contribute to the development of their Whāia te Tika Māori Strategy.
The research will explore published research about Māori and cultural capability development across six sectors (education, police, social services, justice, corrections and health) from 1988 to 2018.
Drawing on our Te Poutokomanawa o Te Puna Ora Framework, the research will be conducted within a Kaupapa Māori paradigm, prioritising Māori knowledge, practice and methods; take a strengths-based approach, and be focused on creating transformative outcomes.
The research will also draw on our experience as one of the largest Māori Homebase and ACC providers across the country.
The research project will be overseen by our Research Director, Annemarie Gillies, from our Health and Populations Research Institute.
