Here at Te Puna Ora o Mātaatua, we do things a little differently to reflect the needs of our hāpori. Our Ngā Mata Wai Ora service brings together the strengths of Clinical and Kaupapa Māori Frameworks to deliver a tailored approach for our whānau.

In this role, you’ll provide culturally grounded, holistic AOD and mental health support to rangatahi through one-to-one therapeutic mahi and engaging group programmes. You’ll take a strengths-based approach to assessment and care planning, working alongside whānau and wider supports to promote wellbeing and recovery.

Nga pūkenga me whai I Your skills and experience

So you can hit the ground running, we’d expect you to bring a few things to the table such as:

 Relevant qualification in Addiction, Mental Health, Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

  • Registration (or working towards) with a recognised body (DAPAANZ, NZAC, SWRB, NZPB, etc.)
  • Proven experience in AOD and/or mental health, including intake and/or casework
  • Excellent communication, assessment and documentation skills
  • Confident working independently and as part of wider team, with the ability to work collaboratively with whānau, clinical teams and other support services.
