Te Puna Ora o Mātaatua is the leading regional Māori health and wellbeing provider in the country. Established in 1991, Te Puna Ora o Mātaatua delivers an integrated range of community health, general medical, homebased, and social services within the Mātaatua rohe, mai ngā kuri a whārei ki Tihirau.

Te Pōkapu Hapori is a new Community Hub initiative that aims to support and restore the Mana and Mauri to our most vulnerable whānau, assisting them towards wellness, sustainable employment, and housing independence, under a Kaupapa Māori framework. Recognising the respective strengths and aroha for vulnerable whānau, Te Puna Ora o Mātaatua and Waiariki Whānau Mentoring have collaborated to provide this exciting opportunity for whānau.

He aha te tūnga | About the role

This is a new role that will support our latest initiative, the Community Hub. As our Community Hub Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the administration functions within the Hub run smoothly. Your normal day for you will likely consist of, ordering stock and stationery, assisting the team with whānau ora plans, supporting referrals, coordinating hui, events and wānanga, ensuring the whare is well presented and most importantly, providing manaakitanga to whānau and manuhiri at the Hub.

For this role we’re looking for an exceptional administrator, someone who is approachable and friendly, likes to mahia te mahi, and is driven by results. The role is 20 hours per week therefore would suit someone who is either studying or looking for part time hours that fit around their whānau.

So you can hit the ground running, we’d expect you to bring a few things to the table such as:

  • Proven administration experience
  • An approachable and friendly manner towards vulnerable whānau
  • Experience working in a Kaupapa Māori environment
