Pūrakau Counselling and Pastoral Care with Raharuhi Koia – Support for Our Veterans
We’re proud to welcome Raharuhi Koia to the Rehua Nuku Ora team, offering Pūrakau Counselling and Pastoral Care as part of our weekly clinic. A former Army Padre with over 22 years of Regular Force service, Raharuhi brings deep understanding, lived experience, and cultural insight to support our veterans and whānau.
Starting Wednesday 23 July, Raharuhi will be with us every Wednesday at the Tāneatua Clubrooms, offering counselling and pastoral support for veterans from 10am – 11.30am.
If you’re a veteran, transitioning from service, or carrying the weight of past experiences — come and have a kōrero with Raharuhi. Through conversation, connection, and care, he creates a safe and respectful space to reflect, heal, and rediscover hope.
About Raharuhi:
- Served in Bougainville, Timor Leste, Afghanistan, and across Aotearoa and the Pacific
- Registered counsellor with Veterans Affairs NZDF
- Specialises in grief and trauma, identity, and life transitions
