Walk-in Appointments

Please note these clinics are for brief single-issue health problems only, including general GP health check-ups, and are only available to registered Rehua Medical patients Monday, Tuesday & Thursdays 9am-10.45am.

This will be operated by one clinician and there may be a wait time depending on the number of patients waiting to be seen.

Alternatively, patients may also book appointments with other clinicians ahead of time.

Patients visiting our walk-in clinic may be asked to book an appointment if their health needs are more complex.

These clinics do not cover the following:

  • Work and Income medical assessments
  • Driver medical assessments
  • Insurance/diving medical assessments
  • Long-term conditions or complex consultations
  • Consultations for multiple issues
  • New patient consultations (new patients must have a fully scheduled appointment with a nurse and GP before accessing our walk-in clinics)
  • Nurse appointments

Please note those attending walk-in clinic will be triaged by a Healthcare Assistant or Nurse before seeing clinician.

Ngā Ringa Kōkōmuka

Rehua Medical is proud to bring Ngā Ringa Kōkōmuka – Rongoā Māori to our whānau.
This clinic will run on a koha basis on Tuesdays & Thursdays.

Ngā Ringa Kōkōmuka provides a safe environment for patients registered with Rehua Medical in wairua healing, mirimiri & rongoā.

Ngā Ringa Kōkōmuka brings more than 40 years’ of experience in rongoā, wairuatanga and mirimiri, and is committed to improving the hauora of the Mataatua rohe.

Orthopaedic Clinic

We are bringing fortnightly orthopaedic consultations to Rehua Medical. 
Led by orthopaedic specialist Mr Nigel Giles these consultations will cater to all pre and post-operative needs, supporting you with regaining mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing quality of life.

This service is available for ACC patients, free of charge.

Orthopaedics focuses on the care of the skeletal system and its interconnecting parts, including:

  • bones
  • muscles
  • joints
  • tendons
  • ligaments
  • nerves

To book an appointment, a referral letter from your GP and/or Allied Health Provider is required.

We are unable to see patients who do not have a referral and those who are not ACC-approved.

Chiropractic Clinic

Dr. Craig Aitu is now providing his chiropractic service to Mataatua whānau.

These weekly clinics will be based at our Ngā Mata Wai Ora – Counselling and Therapy Hub.

From pēpi to kaumātua – all of our medical services are based on a Whānau Ora approach to well-being and we deliver to all communities.

Counselling

Te Puna Ora o Mataatua operates a mental health, alcohol/addictions and trauma counselling service. Enrolled patients at Rehua Medical can receive this service for free.

Kōhanga reo

Do your tamariki attend Kōhanga Reo in Whakatāne? We deliver clinical services on site each Monday morning.
