We provide health promotional and educational services for Māori communities across Mataatua/Eastern Bay of Plenty.
Our team attends a range of events including public workshops, wānanga at Marae, public or weekend events and expos and school kapahaka to improve access to healthcare information.
Our Service | Ā Mātou Ratonga
There is an overwhelming quantity of services and providers delivering healthcare across the Mataatua region.
From primary and emergency care, homebased care, pharmaceutical, general medical practices, community services to seasonal and targeted health interventions—it can be quite difficult to make sense of it all.
We help figure it all out.
Our team provides tutorials and workshops, big and small, to help with general information and facilitating specific referrals for you and your whānau.
We are often set up in our gazebo at a public or community event with all our information and enrolment packs on hand.
We also support other health providers in coordinating activities and campaigns.
Hei Tautoko:
We specialise in helping whānau that are not yet engaged in the health system at all.
We understand the historical disadvantage, inequity and mistrust Māori communities have experienced. We also understand the practical and financial realities of accessing healthcare.
We aim to rebuild that trust and design a pathway so your whānau can access and afford the healthcare you are entitled to.
Ngā Whakaritenga:
We can set-up and participate at an event that you’re organising. We can organise promotional and educational workshops at your Marae, school, work or community organisation. We can design an online information campaign for your Facebook group. Contact us to find out more.
