We provide a range of learners, restricted and full driving licence support based at the Rangatahi Hub in Kopeopeo.
The academy is focussed on achieving Class 1 (Private Vehicle) Licences.
Classes and lessons are all undertaken by our fully qualified driving instructor.
Learn to Drive with the Waka Rangatahi Driving Academy
The Waka Rangatahi Driving Academy operates out of our Rangatahi Hub at 88 King Street, Kōpeopeo. Our friendly instructor Shane can facilitate group study sessions, theory lessons, and practical driving lessons! So, no matter what you need on your journey to driving, we can help.
Learners study groups are delivered at the hub. We are part of the EBOP Workforce Group and can pathway clients into Class 2 to Class 5 options if considering a career in driving (transport, freight and logistics).

Our Hub is fully equipped with a computer suite, providing you with free access to the online Learners Practice Test.
This is a great space to learn at your pace in a supportive environment and our Kaitohutohu Waka Rangatahi Shane is also on site if you have any questions.

Restricted & Full Licence Driving Lessons
Having an experienced driving teacher can make all the difference when it comes to driver training. We make sure your time learning with us is safe and enjoyable; our teacher walks alongside you in your journey, going at the pace you need and helping when you get stuck. Before you know it, you’ll be driving confidently!

- Rangatahi who are part of the Tū Māia Rangatahi Programme
- Young people 16-24 who are not currently enrolled in education, employment or training
Rehua Medical Enrolled Patients: $20/hr
Anyone: $45/hour
