AOD Counsellor | Part Time (0.6 FTE), Permanent

Our Rangatahi Hub is renowned for supporting Rangatahi to achieve their aspirations through tautoko and creating customised plans to support Rangatahi in their pathways towards education, training, and employment.

The Hub provides Rangatahi with access to a range of free wrap-around services such as a Driving Academy, Counselling, Medical Health Care, Mātauranga, Life Skills, Nutrition and much more.

The Team is a well-oiled machine, continuously exceeding their KPI’s, which is a reflection of their passion for supporting Rangatahi. With our Youth programme and Driving Academy finally humming, the last piece of the puzzle is our AOD Counsellor.

As AOD Counsellor, your role is to provide mental health and addiction support to Rangatahi and whānau in need by spearheading mental health and AOD programmes, including initiatives and events aimed at Rangatahi. This role requires someone who is passionate and highly creative in terms of influencing change through providing education, coping mechanisms and alternative pathways.

Ngā pūkenga me whai | Your skills and experience

For this role, we are looking for someone who:

  • Is registered to a professional body such as DAPAANZ or NZAC etc
  • Has experience organising and facilitating events and programmes
  • Is comfortable working with group settings
  • Can connect with whānau and Rangatahi
