Ko wai mātou? | About us

Te Puna Ora o Mātaatua is the leading regional Māori health and wellbeing provider in the country. Established in 1991, Te Puna Ora o Mātaatua delivers an integrated range of community health, general medical, homebased, and social services within the Mātaatua rohe.

Te tūnga | The role

Here at Te Puna Ora o Mātaatua, we’re committed to improving the Hauora of whānau in both urban and hard-to-reach areas of Mātaatua rohe, which is why we’ve extended our services to include a new Mobile GP Unit, Rehua Nuku Ora.
Since its launch in 2023, Rehua Nuku Ora has been the highlight to many events across Mātaatua, providing general medical and specialist support to whānau in need. Our mobile service has been a huge success so much that, our Operational Lead now needs a backup driver to support him on weekends, public holidays and other ad hoc days when he is unavailable.

For this role, you will be responsible for the Operational Component of the Mobile GP Unit, ensuring clinical days in and around Mātaatua run smoothly. You will oversee all day-to-day operations including vehicle checks and maintenance, driving to and from locations, and coordinating any other logistical matters on the day. The nature of Rehua Nuku Ora means that your days on the bus will be long with early starts and late finishes, therefore, a passion for connecting with local communities would be ideal.

Ngā pūkenga me whai | Your skills and experience

This is a busy role within a mobile clinical setting. So you can hit the ground running, we’d hope that you could bring some of the following skills:

  • Demonstrated experience providing manaaki to whānau
  • Experience driving and maintaining heavy vehicles
  • Holds a Class 2 licence
  • Experience working in a clinical setting would be an advantage
  • Has an alignment to Te Ao me ona Tikanga Māori.
