A pioneer of change, Amohaere Tangitu has dedicated decades working within Aotearoa’s health care industry. She dedicated her career to bringing cultural perspectives and practices into our health care system creating a space that is safe, accommodating and comfortable for whānau.
In part one of Amohaere’s story, she reflects on her experiences as a kotiro and what sparked her interest to become a nurse. She talks about her nursing training and the reality of our health care industry at the time. Amohaere also considers her decision to swerve her career in a different direction.
