Festival for the Future a source of inspiration for Mataatua rangatahi

A wānanga focussed on inspiring leadership, entrepreneurship and kaitiakitanga within Aotearoa and across the motu has helped to inspire future leaders in Mataatua.

In June, members of Mataatua Movement, Anituatua Black and Waimihi Rota-Matchitt, flew to Wellington where they experienced Festival For The Future for the very first time.

The pair attended as representatives of the local rangatahi committee, whose purpose is to connect, develop and empower rangatahi to their culture, identity and their community.

They say the event was a way to directly inspire and influence this mahi, and have detailed their experience in a new report.
