New Partnership for Med Central

Te Puna Ora o Mataatua and Poutiri Trust are pleased to announce their new partnership in Whakatane Medical Practice (Med Central). Both partners will be joint owners, while we will be responsible for its management and operations.

Poutiri Trust and Te Puna Ora o Mataatua (TPOOM) are pleased to announce their new partnership in the Whakatane Medical Practice (Med Central). Med Central provides a full suite of general practice services, located in the heart of Kopeopeo. Both partners are committed to providing ongoing quality service that our clients deserve.

Mana Newton, Chair of Poutiri Trust says “we are excited to be able to work collectively with TPOOM in our joint efforts to serve the community by improving Hauora. Our objectives, goals, and strategy align and will complement both organisations in our united kaupapa”

Fiona Wiremu, Chairperson of TPOOM noted that “this is an exciting opportunity to advance our integrated health care model. Alongside our existing health and well- being services we will be able to offer a seamless clinical service to our clients and the community improving healthcare access”.

“We are also pleased to strengthen our relationship with Poutiri Trust who support providers to deliver health services for their local communities across the Bay” says Ms Wiremu.

Both Poutiri and TPOOM will be joint owners and governance partners, while TPOOM will be responsible for the management and operations of Med Central. In accordance with its planned strategy, Med Central will eventually be relocated to the ‘one-stop’ Health Hub within the Te Puna Ora o Mataatua facilities in Kopeopeo.
