Te Wiki Haumaru Wai

A kaupapa for the kaimoana gatherers of the whānau or for those who want to become one. This is your chance to get certified and qualified to gather kaimoana safely.

Mō tātou me ngā uri whakaheke.
For us and the generation to come.

Te Puna Ora o Mataatua is proud to offer water safety wānanga during our Te Wiki Haumaru Wai!

We’re equipping whānau with the mātauranga and experience they need to gather kaimoana safely. You’ll learn water survival skills, get skippers and open water diving training, and gain the certifications and qualifications that come along with it. This rōpū will also have the opportunity to put what they’ve learnt to the ultimate test with a diving trip in Whangaruru.

Haere mai rā ehika mā! Come along to our Te Wiki Haumaru Wai! We have limited spaces available on this kaupapa, so get in quickly!

Because spots are so limited, our kaimahi will be going through a screening process to make sure you’re the right fit for this rōpū.

All participants must be 18 or older, able to swim 20 meters confidently, medically fit to complete training, and can provide medical forms at their own cost. Medical forms must be returned by the 4th of November.

Rēhita mai! Click the button below to register for this awesome kaupapa!

Nau mai e ngā hua o te wai tai, o te wai Māori e!
